DATA SHEET

DoubleVision® Pro supercharges the remote administration and support for UNIX and Linux servers.

Tired of sitting around the office after hours waiting for those
"it's-taking-forever" tasks to finish on your UNIX or Linux server?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could start a process at the office and then monitor it remotely? You can with Tridia's DoubleVision® Pro. Start the program… check on it… disconnect. The program continues to run. Connect back at any time to check the status or make changes remotely.

DoubleVision Pro allows administrators to remotely connect to another user's screen, view exactly what they see, and have full control of that keyboard. That's right, FULL CONTROL, just as if you were sitting at the remote terminal. This is great news if critical maintenance can only be done after hours, or you have a database that needs rebuilding before the next business day. With DoubleVision Pro, there's no need for late nights or days away from the family. Remotely, you remain on TOP of things, no matter where you are or what time it is.

END the nightmare support calls!
DoubleVision Pro gives administrators a tech advantage that prevents support calls from turning into nightmares. No longer will you spend endless hours on the phone describing screens and dictating keystrokes. By remotely viewing what's on the user's screen, you fly through support cases, diagnosing problems faster and closing more calls per hour than EVER before.

Remote Control
From a remote location, take control of a telnet session or terminal to view a user's screen or take complete control of his keyboard. This is an invaluable support resource that saves administrators money and time.

Full Keyboard Control
The remote user has complete control over both the host and remote keyboards. Both keyboards may be left unlocked, allowing the host and remote user to interact with the program running on the host's terminal on a first come, first served basis.

TrueScreen™ Screen Tracking
Utilizing the latest technology, the screen-tracking module has been written to allow DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux to track and display the host screen's attributes. No "catch up" time is needed. TrueScreen is not hardware specific and works with any supported terminal type.

Instant Replay
Activated along with the TrueScreen feature at the time of attachment,
Instant Replay allows the remote user to play back any number of screens of activity when viewing the host terminal. Instant Replay is particularly useful when providing technical support to a host user. When a host user calls reporting error messages, the remote user can replay the previous terminal activity to find out just what led to the error.

Recording Capability
Remote users may record a current viewing session, or schedule the future recording of a port's activity. An easy-to-use recorder command menu walks the user through the recording process.

Training Function
Multiple users may view the same terminal at the same time. Remote training sessions can be arranged without the time and expense involved with traditional classroom settings. Further, chaining of terminals is allowed.

Chat Window
The Chat Window feature allows host and remote users to converse on screen. The participants are identified by user name and tty address.

Screen Blanking
The screen of the selected host terminal/tty is blanked and a user customizable message is displayed so that the host may no longer interact with the running application.

Translation Between Dissimilar Terminal Types
DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux provides its own terminal translation database for most common terminals types. This allows DoubleVision to translate the commands of the host user's terminal to the commands of the remote user's terminal providing an accurate screen image.

Robust Security
Administrators have the ability to customize DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux's
global permissions to fit their unique needs. Used in conjunction with
DoubleVision's global security setting, system administrators are able to:
• Specify which users may view or record a given host user
• Define which terminals may run DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux
• Grant users permission to connect to a terminal while "at login"
• Define which terminals are available for pre-attachment
